CSS Image maps
Not a lot has excited me in the world of web design very recently, I keep looking at the lack of posts and thinking “but what can I write about”?
Well, after a couple of links to his site from the forums in the last few days, Stu Nicholls had me grinning with glee at his demonstration of CSS Image Maps.
Really good examples, the kind of demo that makes you think “wow, I wanna learn how to do that”. My own examples of the things I’m trying to explain tend to be very dull and boring, and probably not exactly inspirational, I think perhaps that shows the difference in my artistic capabilities, heh.
And though it may require a fair bit of CSS code to achieve, the results look stunning, and done well I think it’s worth it. The interactiveness you can introduce to the page in that manner can be great to lift a pages appeal.
