Download Beethoven’s Symphonies
As part of the new Creative Archive set up by the BBC, Channel 4, the British Film Industry and the Open University, you will be able to legally download all of Beethoven’s symphonies for free after they are played on Radio 3.
Not everyone’s cup of tea perhaps, but even if you don’t like Beethoven, you have to agree it’s pretty cool that they are offering this kind of service.
I do hope it’s in a nice general MP3 format, and not some DRM restricted thing. They are afterall offering it for free.
The downloads will be availible for one week after being played on Radio 3, so you’ll need to keep going back to get them all.
The BBC are doing some really good stuff with this Creative Archive and the Backstage BCC site. From some of the comments, their web team seem to really get RSS and syndication and how those kind of things can benefit everyone, as well as the organisations reputation as a world leading news/media provider.
